Nope, NO Mistake Here

'He Made a Mistake': Second N.Y. Prison Employee Arrested in Jailbreak

(Hello, hello, is this mike on? Will someone please assist me up to my soapbox?)

Oh, Hell to the No.
NO Mistake here.

You work in a Prison with Prisoners. People who are Criminals. You have worked in a Prison for 27 years. With Criminals. You made no mistake. Your actions were premeditated, calculated and show no regard for what the consequences would be to your family and the general public.

You now deserve to be living there among them now. There is a part of you and your fellow accomplice that is criminal as well. The psychopath egotistical part that thought you were clever enough to go against all the rules and your years of training and outsmart the penal system by conspiring with the very people you were hired to protect society from.

Your crime may have not been committed with a physical weapon of destruction but you did manage to unleash into the world, two murderous lunatic weapons that are evil incarnate.  Any crimes committed with these two weapons you should be accountable for as well and if any person is harmed, their blood will be upon your hands and you should be punished accordingly.

I hope there is no leniency in your prison sentence or that of your accomplice.  As correctional officers, you should be held to a higher standard of behavior because your job is to monitor the criminal element in our society in order to protect the lives of your fellow citizens.

Now why would I be so passionate about this issue? My passion comes as a result of being the daughter of an ex-con (who, thank the mercy of God, did not raise me) who was always honest about his bad choices and decisions (he never said mistake as his actions were always deliberate) and who gave me an inside portal into the criminal mind and the intricacies of prison life.

So, for these two individuals to have been on the front lines working in a prison interacting daily for years and years with inmates to now try to give society a misty doe eyed “I made a mistake, I’m sorry” defense is immoral, reprehensible, and just plain ‘ol Bull Butter.
