This post is my response to the vile hatred I started seeing minutes after the Supreme Court's ruling on the nationwide legalization of gay marriage today, 06/26/15.
Dear God,
I pray for your intervention to remove the scales from the eyes of those who profess to believe in your love and mercy, and parade themselves in the world as "Christians" but who have hate in their heart for those whose beliefs do not fall in line with the requirements they have set forth in order to for someone to be loved and accepted by you. They have chosen to erase from their minds the work and examples set forth by your Son when he walked on this planet in human form thousands of years ago. Your Son tried to show us humanity, peace, tolerance, love and forgiveness for all people and he ended up nailed to a cross. He chose to spend his time among the "sinners" because he saw the hatred, hypocrisy and lack of compassion for their fellow man by the "Christians". If you were to bring your beloved Son back today to Earth, I have no doubt he would meet the same fate and these "Christians" would be there leading him to his death and pounding in the nails.
The "Christians" are good people and deserve the gifts you choose to bestow upon us all, but they have gotten swept up in the egotism of their own minds and crowded out all of the lessons you gave to us about humanity, peace, tolerance, love and forgiveness and replaced it with pious judgmental behavior and their own ideology. Please have mercy upon them.
