Once of the things that both irritates and amuses me is the
lack of proofreading I see on various things.
The calendar I have hanging in my office is a perfect example. I posted this pic on my Facebook page
recently and no one saw the mistake.
And yes, I know, I have a calendar on my phone, on my
laptops, in the cloud and probably under the sea for all I know. But I am guess I am what is referred to
nowadays as “old fashioned” (which really pisses me off because I vowed to
always try to be cool and modern) because I still like paper things like
calendars.
However, I will have to admit that after writing things on
the calendar in April for May and taking it down several times to add items, I
didn’t see the mistake until yesterday and it irritated me that I didn’t see it
before and amused at the same time.
As far as I know, there is no May the “39th”.
This is also not the first mistake I have seen on this
locally produced calendar. In the pic
below, the little thumbnail calendar listed at the bottom of January is the
wrong date and day of the week sequence for 2014. February 1, 2014 was actually on Saturday,
not Friday.
After seeing the second mistake, I had to say something so I
sent the company an email and told them I would be glad to help provide them
with proofreading services for next year’s calendar for a consulting fee.
