My Flat Stanley: Part III

On Thursday, 01/23/14, My Flat Stanley went with a co-worker on her business trip to Bethel, AK.

Bethel, AK is a town of approximately 6,000 people and is located 400 miles west of Anchorage.   Bethel is only accessible by air and the Kuskokwim River (which can only be done in the summertime).  However, for the folks in the 56 surrounding villages, Bethel serves as the business center and they can ride into Bethel on their snow machines, weather permitting.

Bethel has more cabs per capita than any other US city.  All of the buildings there are built on pylons and pipes are above ground to help prevent them from freezing.  When I called to make hotel reservations, I was told by the clerk that they had the nicest hotel in town because all of the bathrooms were inside the hotel.

As you can see by the photos, Flat Stanley helped our analyst get some new Xerox printers up and running for our customer.

I have actually blogged about Bethel, AK on 07/03/12 on my old blog when someone started putting posters up saying they were getting a Taco Bell, which they were not.  However, Taco Bell did send a truck there to serve tacos to everyone in the town on 07/01/12.
